A note on the advice from VCAA
In 2020, due to the impacts of COVID-19 on schooling, the VCAA is using a modified study design. For a copy of this study design please go to:
A note on using Cambridge VCE Health and Human Development Third Edition
These changes will impact on your teaching of chapters 11 and 12 of Cambridge VCE Health and Human Development Unit 3 and 4. Content from section 11.2 (page 445) onwards is not required to be taught in 2020.
Given these changes and advice that the examination period is likely to be in December, our advice is to continue your teaching of Unit 3 to ensure you cover the content well. During remote learning, your students may not be learning at the same pace as they were at school learning face-to-face and this is OK. If you need to take extra time to assess or revise concepts covered during remote learning once you are face-to-face, then this is something that you should now have time to do. Try not to feel the pressure to stick to the timeline you have in previous years. This year is obviously different and we need to show flexibility in preparing our students as best as we can, while maintaining the integrity of the VCE.
